Sam H. Lane, age 80, of Benton, KY, died Thursday, February 2, 2012, at 6:00 a.m., at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. He was a member of the Benton First United Methodist Church. He was a 58 yr member of the Hardin Berkley Lodge #567 and a Army Vetran that served in the Korean War.
He was the son of the late Barnel Lane and the late Nida (Bonner) Lane
He is survived by his wife; Dorothy (Gray) Lane, daughter; Patty Lane Shelton and husband Jim Shelton of Benton, KY., Son in law; David Henson of Benton, KY., Brother; Malcolm Lane of Kuttawa, KY., Sisters; Delpha Rhoades of Stella, KY. and Lorene Cassity of Benton, KY., Grandchildren; Scott Shelton and wife Denae of Calvert City, KY., Nancy and husband Jeremiah Mitchell of Chattanooga, TN., Mark and wife Jessica Henson of Benton, KY. and Matt and wife Jessica Henson of Benton, KY., Great Grandchildren; Emma Lane Shelton,Ethan Shelton, Miah Mitchell, Laney Henson, and Colton Henson.
He was preceded in death by his daughters; Donna Lane Henson and Cathy Ann Lane, Brothers; Frank Lane and Howard Lane.
Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. box 492, Benton, KY. 42025
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY.
Bro. David Atkinson is to officiate.
Internment will follow in the Hemitite Cemetery in Land Between the Lakes.
Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY.
Masonic services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February3, 2012 in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home.
