William Edward Lightcap, age 82, of Benton, KY, died Monday, February 13, 2012, at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray, KY. Born in Rockford, Illinois, he was of the Catholic Faith. Mr. Lightcap was a member of the Bricklayers Union Local 22 for 22 years.
He was the son of the late Henry Valentine Lightcap and the late Merlette (Heller) Lightcap.
He is survived by his wife: Carol Anne (Ramsey) Lightcap; One Daughter: Kimberly Anne Watkins, husband Jeff, Hickory, KY; Three Sons: Tim Edward Lightcap, Rockford, IL, Timothy James Lightcap, wife Pat, Nashville, TN, James Jeffery Lightcap, wife Lori, Louisville, KY; Two Sisters: Sandra Ryan, Paragould, AR, Kathleen Busse, husband Jerry, Rockford, IL; 7 grandchildren, Sarah Harrisburger, stationed in Japan; Bristal Watkins of Hickory, KY., Hannah Watkins of Hickory, KY., Emma Lightcap of Louisville, KY., William Lightcap of Louisville, KY., Salina Vongsamphanh of Louisville, KY., Justina Vongsamphanh of Nashville, TN; and 2 great grandchildren; Kaylie Mixayphon and Hallie Akham both of Nashville, TN..
Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY.
Funeral service will be held at Collier Funeral Chapel on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Kerry Lambert and Jeff Watkins officiating.
Interment will follow at Horse Prairie Cemetery, Sesser, IL.
Visitation will be held at Collier Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 p.m.
