Francis H. Hibbs, age 94, of Benton, KY, died Monday, October 8, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, KY. He was a member of Sharpe Baptist Church. He was a member of the US Army and veteran of WWII. Mr. Hibbs was a purple heart recipient.
He was the son of the late Bill Hibbs and the late Burl (Manley) Hibbs.
He is survived by his wife: Betty (Willis) Hibbs, Benton, KY; Three Daughters: Linda Sledd, Paducah, KY, Mary Bohleber, Gilbertsville, KY, Judith Vied, Del Ray Beach, FL; Four Sons: Stanley Ray Hibbs, Benton, KY, Roger Hibbs, Benton, KY, Hugh Hibbs, Calvert City, KY, Larry Hibbs, Symsonia, KY; 12 Grand Children, and 14 Great-Grand Children.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Roy D. Hibbs, Nathan Hibbs, and 2 sisters: Estil Dawes, and Corine Burden.
Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY.
Funeral service will be at Collier Funeral Chapel at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 11, 2012, Rev. Marlin Mitchell officiating.
Interment with military honors will follow at New Hope Cemetery, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Collier Funeral Home.
